Ranchi to observe ‘Anemia Mukt Jharkhand Week’ from december 15 to 21

Ranchi, Dec 13 ( UNI) Under the Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) programme, ‘Anemia Mukt Jharkhand Week’ will be observed across all blocks of Ranchi district from December 15 to December 21, 2025, with the objective of preventing, screening, managing anemia and creating mass awareness among the population.
The programme will be implemented district-wide keeping in view the high prevalence of anemia, particularly among women and children.
As part of the week-long campaign, intensified efforts will be made towards anemia screening and treatment, hemoglobin testing, Iron and Folic Acid (IFA) supplementation, and community awareness activities.
Services provided to identified beneficiaries will be tracked through the AMB T4 mobile-based application, while special focus will also be given to addressing non-nutritional causes of anemia.
Civil Surgeon, Ranchi, Dr. Prabhat Kumar, stated that anemia remains a major public health challenge in Jharkhand, especially among women and children.
He said that during the campaign, teams of health workers will reach rural areas to provide preventive medicines and necessary guidance to women and children. Pregnant women will be provided Iron Folic Acid tablets to reduce the risk of anemia and related complications.
The campaign aims to strengthen district-level efforts to protect girls and women from anemia during the week-long drive.
District Programme Manager Praveen Kumar Singh informed that children aged six months to five years will be screened at health centres, schools, and Anganwadi centres. Based on screening results, iron supplementation and appropriate treatment will be provided to improve hemoglobin levels and work towards the elimination of anemia.
The district administration has appealed to the public to actively participate in the campaign and make the Anemia Mukt Jharkhand Week a success.
